KEMAPCO and the union sign a new labor agreement for a duration of 3 years

Khaberni - The Arab Fertilizers and Chemicals Industries Company “KEMAPCO”, a subsidiary of the Arab Potash Company, and the General Union of Petroleum and Chemical Workers in Jordan signed a new collective labor agreement for a period of 3 years, confirming the approach of partnership and constructive dialogue between management and workers, and keen on enhancing job and social stability and supporting a motivating work environment that contributes to the continuation of the journey of excellence and success.
The agreement was signed on behalf of “KEMAPCO” by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Potash Company and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “KEMAPCO”, Engineer Shahada Abu Hudaib, and the General Manager of the company Engineer Basam Al-Zaamat, while it was signed on behalf of the union by its head, Khaled Al-Zyoud, with the presence of a number of representatives from the administration and the union.
The agreement included a package of benefits targeted at supporting the employees and enhancing their job and social gains, including improving income-related benefits, and developing mechanisms of support designated for the end-of-service reward fund which enhances its sustainability and its ability to provide financial protection for employees in the future, along with providing support for health insurance for retirees and their families to ensure their continued access to appropriate health care after their service ends.
The agreement reflects KEMAPCO’s commitment to continuing investment in human capital as a fundamental pillar for success and to establishing a balanced work environment that combines operational goals and enhances employee welfare and stability.
Engineer Shahada Abu Hudaib stated that the agreement embodies the firm belief that human resources are the main driver for accomplishment and progress, asserting that providing a stable and motivating work environment and enhancing the benefits offered to employees are fundamental parts of the corporate approach adopted by the company in building capable staff to continue giving and excelling.

Engineer Abu Hudaib added that the understandings achieved reflect the level of trust and cooperation existing between the company's management and the general union, and confirm the joint commitment to achieving the interests of the employees and supporting the company’s business sustainability and enhancing its capacity to continue growth and development.
In turn, General Manager of KEMAPCO, Engineer Basam Al-Zaamat, stated that the agreement represents an important step in the company's journey towards enhancing the work environment and developing the benefits system offered to the employees, pointing out that human competencies have been and still are the most important factor in the successes achieved by the company and its distinguished position in the fertilizers and chemicals industry.
Zyoud appreciated the positive cooperation shown by the company's management during the negotiations, confirming that the agreement reflects the sides' commitment to enhancing the interests of the employees and establishing a partnership based on dialogue and understanding that serves the stability of the work environment and the sustainability of success.
It is worth mentioning that KEMAPCO produces high-quality potassium nitrate fertilizer and its factories are located in Aqaba and export its products to more than 90 countries around the world, and it achieved a net profit of about 22 million dinars last year and employs 300 employees all of whom are Jordanians.
In terms of social responsibility, the company allocates about 500,000 dinars to support the health and education sectors and associations and charitable activities in Aqaba and the southern regions.
