Syrian Security Foils Abu Alaa Joueya Escape Attempt

Khaberni - The Syrian security authorities announced the foiling of an escape attempt by Osama Mahmoud Hammouda, nicknamed (Abu Alaa Joueya) out of the country.

Jad reported in a post on the Ministry of Interior's account on "X" that the security forces were able to foil the escape attempt of Osama Mahmoud Hammouda, the senior assistant in the intelligence agencies of the previous regime’s President Bashar al-Assad, nicknamed (Abu Alaa Joueya), from the country.

The ministry clarified that the investigations revealed that Abu Alaa Joueya "was involved in violations including leading groups that carried out arbitrary arrests which led to many civilians being imprisoned, in addition to preparing and submitting malicious security reports" during his tenure.

It also added that the detainee is also accused of involvement in "widespread financial extortion operations targeting citizens".

Indicating that the investigations are continuing with him to complete the legal procedures against him, in preparation to present him to the competent judiciary, to consider the charges attributed to him.
