Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi received on Monday the Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, who is visiting the Kingdom coinciding with Jordan hosting the Arab Consultative Meeting and the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level in its resumed 165th regular session.
Al-Safadi and Kalas discussed ways to enhance the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union, and to expand the prospects of mutual cooperation in various fields.
Al-Safadi and Kalas also discussed the efforts to end the dangerous escalation in the region, and emphasized the importance of reaching a fundamental solution based on principles that ensure permanent security and stability according to the rules of international law and principles of good neighborliness.
Al-Safadi and Kalas reviewed the developments in the Palestinian territories, where Al-Safadi highlighted the necessity of stopping the illegal Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, including the expansion of settlements, settler violence, land confiscation, and ongoing violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
Al-Safadi and Kalas agreed to continue enhancing cooperation and developing relations between Jordan and the European Union, and to sustain coordination on regional and international issues of common interest.
