Khaberni - A delegation from the Preventive Medicine and Epidemic Management Department of the Royal Medical Services of Jordan, led by the head of the Preventive Medicine and Epidemic Management Department, Colonel Doctor Ziad Al-Batayneh, visited the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) in the Beni area on Monday, to examine the protocols and procedures used in handling epidemic diseases, primarily the Ebola virus.
The delegation reviewed during the visit the preventive measures and health procedures implemented in the mission's helicopter unit, commending the level of readiness and precautions taken to maintain the safety of the personnel and minimize the risks of the transmission of infectious diseases.
The delegation also met with the chief of military doctors in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Colonel Doctor Joseph Gwande, where the latest updates related to the Ebola virus were discussed, along with the approved health protocols for early detection of suspected cases and quick response mechanisms for dealing with potential infections.
The two sides emphasized the importance of adhering to preventive measures and infection control, enhancing health awareness and continuous training for medical staff and field workers, especially in areas that had previously experienced outbreaks of the virus.
At the conclusion of the visit, the head of the Preventive Medicine and Epidemic Management Department commended the exceptional level of health and preventive readiness, appreciating the workers' commitment to applying the highest standards of safety and occupational health, which contributes to providing a safe work environment and reducing the risks of spreading infectious diseases.
