Khaberni - Monitoring
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz revealed that the head of the Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet) warned during closed security discussions of the possibility of Eilat being subjected to a coordinated and simultaneous ground attack, possibly launched from the direction of the Jordanian border, and perhaps accompanied by a move from the maritime front.
According to the newspaper, the head of the Shin Bet instructed senior officials in the agency to prioritize the scenario of the potential attack on the security priority ladder, and to study all the probabilities associated with executing it and the mechanisms of dealing with it.
The newspaper mentioned, according to monitoring by the Khaberni website, that the warnings came within the framework of internal security reviews aimed at drawing lessons from the October 7 attack and assessing potential threats that Israel might face from several fronts at the same time.
According to the report monitored by the Khaberni site, Israeli security estimates focus on the possibility of executing a coordinated and multifaceted attack targeting the city of Eilat, which prompted security agencies to strengthen emergency plans and raise the level of intelligence monitoring of the area.
The newspaper did not refer to any confirmed intelligence information regarding an imminent attack, but clarified that the discussions fall within the security preparations to face scenarios considered by the Israeli security establishment as high priority.
