Controversy over Egypt National Teams Dawn Match Time Amid Strange Calls

Khaberni - The timing of the Egyptian national team's match in the second round of the World Cup against New Zealand has turned into the talk of the hour with the emergence of calls demanding the "delay" of the Fajr prayer to allow for viewing.

The Egyptian team will meet New Zealand at 4 AM local time, prompting some to start preparing in cafes and others to propose delaying the Fajr prayer in mosques to between the halves under the pretext of "praying with tranquility", which was met with great disapproval.

In response to these calls, Dr. Abdel Salam Abdel Monsef, the preacher at the Ministry of Religious Endowments, said, "The call to delay the timing of Fajr prayer for watching a football match and claiming that this is jurisprudence is not jurisprudence at all! It is not appropriate to abandon prayer for a frivolous activity that brings no reward".

He emphasized that "in Islamic Sharia, performing prayer timely is one of the most beloved acts to Allah", considering these calls strange.

Meanwhile, another mocked the calls for delaying the Fajr prayer, commenting: "Football jurisprudence, in my days we used to drop what we were doing for prayer, turns out the jurisprudence is actually to leave the prayer until the half is over, ohhhh the world is sweet huh fellas, but only if we stop being rigid".
