Killing of Three Israelis in the United States

Khaberni - Three Israelis met their deaths last weekend after a single-engine light aircraft they were onboard crashed in a forest area near the city of Bowie in the state of Maryland, USA.

The American NBC network, citing the Home Security Services Communication Center in Prince George's County, reported that the crash site was first identified on Saturday at 23:30 local time, following an automatic emergency alert sent from an iPhone, although the wreckage was not found until the early morning hours of the next day (Sunday).

The wreckage was discovered behind a residential complex and beside a children's playground, after an overnight search.

According to the police, the aircraft was en route from Ocean City in New Jersey to Montgomery County, apparently being used for a training flight by a local flying school.

The "Baltimore Sun" newspaper identified the aircraft involved as a Piper PA-28, a model that is considered one of the most common training aircraft in the United States.

The emergency crews that arrived at the site declared the death of the pilot and the two passengers who were on the aircraft. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
