Khaberni - The prominent lawyer supported by the United States, Abelardo de la Espriella, narrowly won in the second round of the presidential election in Colombia on Sunday, in a sharp turn to the right in the country, where he pledged to wage war on drug traffickers.
After more than 99% of the votes were counted, de la Espriella obtained 49.67% of the votes, significantly ahead of his left-wing rival Senator Iván Cepeda, who garnered 48.69%, according to official results.
