Khaberni - Brent crude futures increased by more than a dollar per barrel in early Asian trading after a shaky start to talks between US and Iranian officials, in the first meeting between them under a temporary peace agreement.
Brent futures rose $1.09, or 1.35%, to $81.66 a barrel by 2206 GMT, after touching a high of $82.30 at the start of trading.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance met with Iranian officials on Sunday to hold the first talks under a temporary peace agreement, despite President Donald Trump's threat to resume war with Iran.
Tehran announced that it had closed the Strait of Hormuz again.
