Khaberni - Adnan Al-Sawa'er, the President of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, confirmed on Sunday that the national team players contributed to promoting Petra before they headed to participate in the World Cup.
Al-Sawa'er said during his talk on the program "Economic Sunday", that an agreement was reached with the ambassadors of the western countries to promote tourism in Jordan, and an agreement was also reached with Petra's restaurants to broadcast the matches.
He also mentioned that the match between Jordan and Argentina will be broadcasted in the cultural village designated for events which can accommodate 5,000 people.
For his part, Salem Al-Omari, the head of the parliamentary tourism committee, stated that Jordan has implemented a number of important activities to benefit, as much as possible, from the participation of the national football team in the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Omari added that Jordan can be promoted through various types of tourism, and that the player is considered the best tourism ambassador for Jordan.
He mentioned that there is a move to coordinate with influencers to promote Jordan as a tourist destination and to employ them purposefully in fields that serve tourist promotion, emphasizing the necessity of benefiting from local, Arab, and international influencers.
Al-Omari confirmed that the presence of the Jordanian audience around the World Cup contributes to the tourist promotion of the kingdom.
Khaldoon Khreisat, the director of the Al-Salt Development Corporation, said that including Al-Salt in the World Heritage list has contributed to increasing tourist interest in it.
Khreisat anticipated an increase in the number of tourists to the city of Al-Salt in the coming period.
He indicated that the match of the Nashama will be displayed on large screens in the amphitheater of Al-Salt Secondary School.
Khreisat pointed out that Al-Salt heavily relies on the "Our Jordan is a Paradise" program and family tourism.
In turn, Mohammad Al-Muharremah, the head of the parliamentary committee for youth, sports, and culture, stated that Jordanian youth in the United States have conveyed a message to the world about Jordanian heritage and the meanings of Jordanian generosity and authenticity.
He added that the Jordanian fans have won the hearts of the world's audiences present at the World Cup, emphasizing the importance of the efforts made to promote Jordan at different official and popular levels.
Al-Muharremah noted that Jordan includes several tourist, archaeological, and religious sites that can be marketed.
