Khaberni - The Saudi national team faced a heavy defeat in the 2026 World Cup at the hands of their Spanish counterparts.
The Saudi team lost 0-4 to Spain in the second-round match of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup on Sunday evening.
The Matador's four goals were scored by Lamine Yamaal and Mikel Oyarzabal (two goals) and Hassan Tambakti mistakenly in his own net at minutes 11, 21, 24, and 49.
The Saudi team's points froze at one point, leveling with Uruguay and Cape Verde, awaiting the match between the latter two later.
The Saudi team drew in the first round with Uruguay 1-1.
In contrast, with its victory over Saudi Arabia, the Spanish team topped Group Eight, raising its score to 4 points, after a draw with Cape Verde in the first round.
The Saudi team is scheduled to face Cape Verde in the third and final round, in which they will seek a win to revive their hopes for qualification.
The Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde game will be held on the morning of the upcoming Saturday, dated 27 June.
