Khaberni - Indian nutritionist Deepshikha Jain revealed 3 foods that she considers to be an important nutritional investment for gut health, pointing out that she prefers to spend money on them rather than on expensive dietary supplements or health products.
She explained in a post on social media that caring for health starts with smart choices while shopping, noting that some everyday nutrient-rich foods can provide long-term benefits, especially for digestive system health, according to New Delhi TV's website.
Jain said: "If I were your personal nutritionist, I would advise you to invest a little in these foods for better health," before revealing her preferred choices.
Greek Yogurt
Jain chose Greek yogurt over traditional yogurt, noting that it contains higher levels of protein and probiotics that support gut health, even if it is a bit more expensive.
Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate, with 70% or more cocoa content, was also on her list, provided its ingredients are simple and short, noting that it is rich in fiber and prebiotics that benefit both digestive and brain health.
Kombucha Drink
The third choice is kombucha, a beverage low in sugar and rich in beneficial bacteria, confirming its benefits for gut health, and it is preferred to be consumed between meals as a digestive aid.
She added that despite its relatively higher cost, kombucha is "worth it" for the health benefits it offers.
Previously, Jain had shared a list of everyday foods rich in polyphenols, such as garlic, berries, and turmeric, which also contribute to enhancing digestive system health.
