Khaberni - Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Al-Qadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, expressing hope for further coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries to serve mutual interests and strengthen existing cooperation relations.
The Azerbaijani President expressed his country's great appreciation for Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty the King in pursuing peace, security, and stability in the region, affirming the depth of bilateral relations established by His Majesty King Hussein Bin Talal and President Heydar Aliyev, may God bless their souls.
President Aliyev said, "I share a deep brotherly relationship with my brother His Majesty King Abdullah II, and we are in constant contact, attaching great importance to the level of coordination between our countries in various fields, which serves the interests of our friendly peoples and enhances stability and cooperation in the region."
He added that Azerbaijan views Jordan as an important partner, appreciates its wise stances, and efforts in supporting dialogue and understanding among peoples, noting that the past years have seen significant development in bilateral relations at the political, economic, cultural, and parliamentary levels.
During the meeting, Al-Qadi said that Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations represent a unique model of brotherly relations based on mutual respect and common understanding, noting that they are under the direct patronage and interest of His Majesty the King and his brother President Ilham Aliyev.
He affirmed the House of Representatives' continuous coordination with the Azerbaijani parliament, and their joint efforts to overcome any obstacles to developing bilateral relations, enhancing parliamentary, economic, and investment cooperation.
Al-Qadi added that the Jordanian House of Representatives attaches great importance to enhancing parliamentary relations with Azerbaijan, and the exchange of legislative experiences, which positively reflects on serving the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
He pointed out that Jordan appreciates the developmental and economic achievements made by Azerbaijan in recent years, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation horizons between the private sectors in both countries and encouraging mutual investments and establishing new economic partnerships in the industries of manufacturing, tourism, food security, and technology.
The meeting was attended by the Jordanian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Omar Al-Nahar; the Azerbaijani ambassador to Jordan, Shahin Shahker Abdullayev; and the MPs: Nimer Al-Salihat, Mahmoud Al-Naimat, and Hussein Kreishan.
Al-Qadi's visit to Azerbaijan is part of his participation in the parliamentary conference of the organization of Islamic Cooperation’s parliamentary union, leading a delegation including MPs Nimer Al-Salihat, Mahmoud Al-Naimat, Adnan Mushoqa, Hussein Kreishan, Atallah Al-Haneiti, Mohammad Al-Sabayleh, Mohammad Bani Melhem, and Amin Al-Ghoiry, the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives.
During his visit, Al-Qadi is scheduled to meet with Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, and a number of Azerbaijani officials. He will also participate in the 20th session of the conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states. The delegation members will participate in the meetings of specialized committees, including the Permanent Committee on Palestine, the Committee on Minorities and Communities, the Cultural and Legal Affairs Committee, the Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee, and the Committee on Human Rights, Women, and Family.
