Statistics Completion of 86 of the enumeration phase for the population census

Khaberni - The Director General of the Department of Statistics, Haider Freihat, presented the latest updates on the implementation of the 2026 General Population and Housing Census, and the achievement rates at the national level.

During a Sunday meeting attended by the Governor of the Capital, Yasser Adwan, and members of the province's executive council, Freihat confirmed that the current stage of the census, the "enumeration phase," is proceeding according to the approved schedule and at an advanced pace, noting that the total achievement rate of the enumeration phase across the kingdom has reached 86 percent of the population.

He also highlighted that the building enumeration achievement rate reached 87 percent, while the achievements in enumerating blocks reached 85.3 percent out of a total of 24,058 blocks across the kingdom, reflecting the level of readiness and commitment to executing the fieldwork.

In a related context, Freihat revealed a significant increase in reliance on digital solutions related to the census, stating that the percentage of citizens who expressed their willingness to use the "self-count" option reached 21 percent, which enhances the efficiency of the census execution and provides flexible options for the citizens. He indicated that the actual count date would be on the first of October upcoming. The meeting discussed several implementation aspects related to the fieldwork progress and mechanisms to support the working teams, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts among various official and local entities to ensure the success of this national project.

For his part, Adwan emphasized the importance of the general population and housing census as one of the strategic national projects that provide accurate data to support decision making and the formation of developmental policies, praising the efforts made by the Department of Statistics and the field teams working in various regions of the kingdom.

The meeting is part of a series of coordination meetings conducted by the Department of Statistics with provinces and partner entities, aimed at monitoring the progress of work and enhancing preparations for the next phase, leading to the execution of the census according to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
