Syria Israeli Forces Invade Rural Daraa Area and Raid Several Homes

Khaberni - The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that an Israeli occupation force penetrated, in the early hours of this Sunday morning, into the Yarmouk Basin area in western rural Daraa, southern of the country.

It mentioned that the force, comprising more than ten military vehicles, executed the incursion in the area located between the villages of Maariya and Abidin, and reached the outskirts of the latter.

It indicated that the occupying forces proceeded to search a number of homes, causing a state of fear and panic among the residents, noting that the force's incursion coincided with movements of military vehicles in the vicinity of sites within the western sector in the area.

The southern Syrian regions, in particular, witness nearly daily Israeli violations taking multiple forms, including aerial bombing, ground incursions, setting up military checkpoints, as well as raiding homes and arresting civilians, including children and shepherds.

After the Syrian rebels overthrew Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the collapse of the separation of forces agreement signed between the two sides since 1974, and occupied the Syrian buffer zone, while Damascus affirmed its commitment to the agreement.

The Syrian government accuses Israel of continuing its attacks and violating the 1974 disengagement agreement, including incursions into southern Syria, assaults on civilians through raiding and detention operations, land bulldozing, and shelling.

It demands the withdrawal of the occupying forces from its territory, emphasizing that all Israeli actions in southern Syria are void and nullified, and do not have any legal effect according to international law, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter the occupying practices, and compel them to completely withdraw from southern Syria.
