Tunisia Bids Early Farewell to the World Cup After Humiliating Loss to Japan

Khaberni - The Tunisian team suffered a harsh defeat against its Japanese counterpart with a score of 4-0, in the second round of Group 6 at the 2026 World Cup.
Daishi Kamada scored early in the 4th minute, before Yasuyuki Ueda added the second goal in the 31st minute.

In the second half, the Japanese team continued its dominance, with Junya Ito scoring the third goal in the 69th minute, before Yasuyuki Ueda sealed the quartet with his second goal in the 83rd minute.
This loss marks Tunisia's second consecutive defeat in the tournament, having started their journey with a 5-1 loss to Sweden, leaving them with zero points and officially losing any chance of reaching the next round before the final match.

This match also marked a disappointing start for French coach Hervé Renard, who took over the helm only a few days prior, replacing Sabri Lamouchi, in an attempt to salvage the Tunisian national team's World Cup campaign.

On the other hand, the Japanese team enhanced its chances of advancing to the next round after raising its total to 4 points, confirming its superiority in its 1000th historic match record in the World Cup finals.
