Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Health announced that it received a report of a person suspected of being infected with the Ebola virus.
The ministry indicated that the patient had returned to Israel three days ago from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The patient sought medical treatment after showing symptoms of fever and headache, and the ministry confirmed that at this stage, it is merely a suspicion.
It added: "The necessary tests are currently being conducted, and the results are expected within the next 24 hours."
The ministry continued in its statement: "The patient is receiving treatment in isolation according to the approved medical procedures and evaluations conducted, and is being transferred to Rambam Medical Center, designated for receiving suspected cases of this kind."
Meanwhile, an epidemiological investigation is being conducted to identify the patient's contacts.
