Khaberni - The Swiss Foreign Ministry announced, in a statement, the postponement of the talks that were scheduled to take place today, Friday, between the United States and Iran at the Bürgenstock mountain resort in the country.
An announcement from the Swiss Foreign Ministry stated, “The planned talks between the United States, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan have been postponed. Switzerland remains ready to facilitate these talks. The necessary preparatory work continues.” The ministry did not specify a new date for the talks.
This statement came after a late-hour announcement by a White House spokesperson, stating that U.S. Vice President JD Vance would not travel to Switzerland to hold talks aimed at ending the war with Iran, according to the European network "Euronews".
A White House spokesperson said, “The logistics of these negotiations were neither easy nor predictable,” so “for now, the Vice President will not travel to Switzerland,” adding that they hope “to begin technical discussions as soon as possible.”
