Khaberni - Kerry Kennedy, the sister of US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., revealed a strange incident that occurred during a family birthday party, where she said her brother released a snake into a pool that was crowded with children.
During an interview with Erin Burnett on CNN on Monday, Kerry Kennedy (66 years old) said the incident occurred during her daughter's birthday celebration long ago, after she found a snake in the garden and sought her brother's help to deal with it.
She added that Kennedy arrived at the scene carrying a pillowcase, accompanied by his then-infant son, Aidan, and managed to catch the snake and put it inside the bag, even though the snake was biting his hand during the process.
She explained saying, “He was holding his infant son while he put the snake into the pillowcase, and it was a bit scary,” noting that he then returned to the celebration site, and took the snake out of the bag to show it to the children, despite the snake continuing to bite his hand.
According to Kerry's account, the situation escalated when Kennedy brought a field mouse and put it in the bag with the snake, causing panic among the children who feared watching the snake eat the mouse before them. She continued: “He reinserted his hand into the pillowcase and grabbed the snake again, although it bit him several additional times.”
She noted that Kennedy later released the snake into the pool that was filled with children, saying: “There were a large number of children in the pool, and then he released this snake which had bitten him into the water.”
Kerry used this story to question her brother's suitability for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services, considering that his actions reflect a lack of judgment regarding the safety and care of children.
She said, “He is someone who has a passion for nature on one hand, but on the other hand, he lacks sound judgment when it concerns the safety and care of children.”
She added, wondering, “Is this the person you want managing the Department of Health and Human Services, with this lack of sound judgment concerning health and safety?”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 72, has a record of unusual positions regarding animals, and had recently stirred controversy after posting a video where he appeared holding two snakes with his bare hands in Dr. Oz’s home backyard.
