Khaberni - Mohammed Al-Zyoud, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, has called on homeowners who have housemaids to rectify their statuses and benefit from the available exemptions before the end of September.
Al-Zyoud, in a post on his Facebook page, stated that if a homeowner wishes to retain their maid, they can benefit from the period for legalizing their status, noting that only 50% of the fee for each past year needs to be paid, with a 100% exemption from fines from both the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Interior.
He added that homeowners who decide to allow the maid to leave the kingdom permanently, a "final exit" will receive a 100% exemption from all previous work fees, in addition to a full exemption from fines from both the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Interior.
Al-Zyoud explained that leaving under the "final exit" system requires only buying a plane ticket for her, without the need for any other procedures.
