Jordan and other Arab and Islamic countries condemn the escalation of violence against Palestinians

Khaberni - The foreign ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Turkish Republic, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemned the ongoing and escalating violence by settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including recent attacks on the Grand Mosque in the village of Jiljilya, and Al-Faruq Mosque in the village of Mazra'a Al-Nubani north of Ramallah.

They affirmed that these assaults clearly violate the sanctity of worship places and religious sites, and international law, including international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The ministers expressed their total rejection of these condemned attacks committed by Israeli settlers, and also the ongoing unilateral and illegal Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, which fuel instability, violence, and extremism, and undermine international efforts aimed at achieving peace. The ministers hold Israel, the occupying power, responsible for these attacks.

The ministers renewed their call for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel to stop its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, end its illegal practices, stop settler violence, hold those responsible for these crimes accountable, and ensure they do not escape justice.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed their firm solidarity with the Palestinian people and their steadfast support for fulfilling their legitimate and inalienable national rights, including their right to self-determination and the embodiment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They also reiterated their support for all efforts aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
