AlNashama Begins Training in Portland in Preparation for the Upcoming Match Against Algeria

Khaberni - The national football team has begun its training in Portland, USA, in preparation for the match against Algeria to be held on the 23rd of this month, within the framework of the Group Ten competitions of the 2026 World Cup.

The match will take place at the San Francisco Bay Arena in California, for the second round of Group Ten, which includes the teams of Jordan, Algeria, Austria, and Argentina.

The national team returned yesterday from the Austria match in San Francisco to Portland, to continue its technical and physical preparations for its second appearance in the World Cup against Algeria in an important match as part of Al-Nashama's search for qualification to the next round.

The list of "Al-Nashama" participating in the World Cup includes 26 players: Yazeed Abu Layla, Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Noor Bani Atiyeh, Abdullah Nasib “Diyara”, Yazan Al-Arab, Hossam Abu Al-Dahab, Mohammed Abu Al-Nadi, Saleem Obeid, Saad Al-Rousan, Ihsan Haddad, Anas Badawi, Muhannad Abu Taha, Mohammed Abu Hashish, Mohammed Abu Ghosh, Ibrahim Saadeh, Amer Jammous, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Nour Al-Deen Al-Rawabdeh, Rajai Ayed, Mohammed Al-Dawood, Mahmoud Murdi, Musa Al-Taamari, Oday Fakhouri, Mohammed Abu Zreiq “Sharara”, Ali Azayzeh, and Ali Alwan.

In a related context, analysts, experts, and followers of Jordanian football expressed their optimism about the possibility of the national football team continuing its creative performances in the 2026 World Cup currently held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

This optimism came after the strong and remarkable display by the stars of the national team in their first World Cup matches against Austria, despite the loss by a score of 1-3.

Speakers for (Petra) clarified that Al-Nashama's first historic appearance in the World Cup was striking and distinctive, with a strong performance facing an experienced European team, confirming that the national team could have achieved a better result had it succeeded in translating the multiple opportunities provided to them throughout the match, pointing out that minor individual errors caused the loss.

They considered that the team is capable of compensating for the loss against Austria in their upcoming match against the brotherly Algerian team on June 23, given the high spirit possessed by the players, along with the excellent level reached by the players on the field, thanks to the cohesion and harmony of the lines.

Coach Omar Al-Zaghool says that the national team amazed everyone with its remarkable performance against Austria, and could have won had it been successful in scoring the opportunities that were available, especially chances by Ihsan Haddad, Oday Fakhouri, Ali Alwan, and Musa Al-Taamari.

He noted that the match of the national team against Austria is considered a historic match as it is the first for Jordanian football in the World Cup, where the team appeared with a commendable style, as praised by the global media, which praised the players' performance in the match, considering that the team is also capable of performing better in the upcoming match against Algeria.

Jordanian coach Maher Ismail, who works at Al-Shiheaniya Club in Qatar, said that the national team's performance against Austria was excellent during most stages of the match, and our players succeeded in outperforming the opponent in many periods, but luck eluded us in translating opportunities into goals, which caused the loss.

Ismail considered that the courage of our players in presenting a good show at their first appearance in the World Cup is grounds for optimism about the possibility of excelling in the upcoming match against Algeria, an important match in the search for the qualification card for the next round of the World Cup.

Rajai Al-Samadi, the president of Ajloun Club, sees that the local sports street has become more confident in the national team's ability to shine in the World Cup, after the good display against Austria, noting that the team has high-caliber players, which makes us more optimistic about the possibility of playing better in the upcoming matches against Algeria and Argentina within Group Ten.

The Jordanian public expressed their pride in the national team and the good technical levels it presented against Austria, considering that there is an opportunity to excel in the upcoming match against Algeria.
