Khaberni - The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that negotiations between the United States and Iran will begin on Friday near Lucerne in the center of the country after the signing of a memorandum of understanding to end the war.
The ministry said, "At this time, it is still scheduled for the United States and Iran, along with the mediators Pakistan and Qatar, to meet tomorrow in Bürgenstock to start the initial negotiations regarding the implementation of the accord."
This comes the day after the American President Donald Trump and the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian remotely signed a memorandum of understanding to end the war in the Middle East that started with an American-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28.
Trump signed the memorandum of understanding, which includes the Lebanese front, during a visit to France.
According to the memorandum, Tehran and Washington committed to conducting negotiations and reaching a final agreement within a maximum period of 60 days, which can be extended by mutual consent of both parties.
According to the text of the agreement, Tehran renewed its pledge not to seek to acquire or develop nuclear weapons, with both sides to discuss Iran's nuclear file in the context of negotiations for the final agreement.
