AlAhliyya Amman University achieves a new qualitative leap and ranks 643 globally and third locally in the QS 2027 ranking

Khaberni - Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved a new global milestone by advancing to the 643rd global position in the QS World University Rankings 2027, after being previously in the 761–770 category in the 2026 ranking, marking a qualitative leap of 123 ranks in just one year.
With this result, the university maintained the first place among private Jordanian universities and ranked third among both public and private Jordanian universities, achieving the most significant progress among the Jordanian universities listed in the ranking.
The university’s total weighted score increased from 24.67 points to 28.45 points, driven by improvements in several key indicators, notably the international scientific research network, sustainability, research citations, academic reputation, and employer reputation.
President of the university, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, stated that this achievement reflects the comprehensive institutional work adopted by the university, and the continuous efforts of faculty, administrative staff, students, and alumni, emphasizing that the university is moving forward with a clear strategic plan focused on the quality of education, scientific research, internationalization, and sustainability.
He said: The advancement of Al-Ahliyya Amman University to the 643rd global position represents an important milestone in its academic journey, confirming the university's ability to compete regionally and internationally, and serves as a motivation to continue working towards achieving even higher ranks in global rankings.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, mentioned that this achievement is the result of an ambitious vision and continuous investment in developing the university’s academic, research, and technology infrastructure, alongside attracting talent and enhancing international partnerships.
He added: What we have achieved today is the result of a long journey of work, planning, and accomplishment, where we set the goal of advancing globally, and worked with confidence and determination until Al-Ahliyya Amman University reached an advanced position worthy of its name, history, and leadership in private university education.
 He confirmed that the university will continue to support qualitative initiatives, provide necessary resources to enhance scientific research and innovation, and enhance the quality of educational outputs, contributing to serving the community and enhancing Jordan's position on the global higher education map.
Dean of Scientific Research Professor Dr. Ahmad Samad Al-Adwan said: The new results reflect the development of the university’s research performance, with an increase in the research citation index per faculty member, and notable progress in the indicator of the international scientific research network.
He added: The improvement in scientific research indicators resulted from the university's policies supporting publication in prestigious journals, promoting impactful research and its marketing, and expanding cooperation with international universities and research centers, which enhanced the presence and impact of the university's research on the global level.
Furthermore, the university achieved significant progress in the sustainability indicator and continued to excel in internationalization metrics, maintaining full marks in the percentage of international students and close to full marks in the percentage of international faculty members. This achievement reaffirms the advanced position that Al-Ahliyya Amman University now holds in global rankings, and its continued pursuit of quality, excellence, and leadership in academic and research fields.
