Meloni Calls on Israel to Act as a Positive Party in Iran Agreement

Khaberni - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on Wednesday, called on Israel to act as a "positive party" for peace in the Middle East, following the agreement reached between Iran and the United States.

Meloni stated at the conclusion of the G7 summit in the French town of Evian, "Our goal should be to promote structural and lasting solutions that go beyond the logic of short-term truces."

She added, "We expect from Israel to act from now on as a positive party in the peace process, and that the inevitable internal discussions, also fueled by the electoral campaign, do not undermine the difficult path taken by the United States."

The Italian Prime Minister noted a "very positive atmosphere" between President Donald Trump and other leaders during the Evian summit.

Regarding Ukraine, she reported that there is "a great deal of convergence, which is not always the case," and that "any tensions or disagreements" were not recorded.

In response to a question about the sharp criticisms that Trump directed at her stance on the war in the Middle East, Meloni said that both of them have "strong personalities."

She added, "We are two individuals determined to defend our countries' interests."
