The Palestinian Presidency Warns of the Dangers of One of the Ministers of the RightWing Occupation Government Announcing the C

Khaberni - The Palestinian Presidency warned of the danger of the step announced by one of the ministers of the right-wing occupation government, which announced the cancellation of the Hebron agreements related to the area of the Ibrahimi Mosque, and the withdrawal of special powers from the Hebron municipality, considering that this step affects the political and legal status of the city of Hebron, and the bilateral agreements signed concerning it.

The Presidency confirmed that these unilateral steps are rejected, condemned, and violate the agreements signed with the Israeli side, international legitimacy, and international law which prohibits altering the existing status of the land of the State of Palestine under occupation.

The Presidency called on the international community, especially the American administration, to intervene immediately and compel the occupation authorities to cancel this "very dangerous" step, which undermines the political process and the two-state solution, and the efforts of international forces aimed at achieving security and stability in the region, and providing the right atmosphere to advance towards achieving two states on the 1967 borders.

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to tamper with the legal, historical, and political status of the city of Hebron and condemned what the extremist minister in the occupation authority Bezalel Smotrich did by cancelling and withdrawing Hebron municipality's authorities over parts of the city, including the revered Ibrahimi Mosque, which is listed on the endangered world heritage list, affirming that Israel has no sovereignty over any part of the city of Hebron or any other Palestinian city.

The Ministry pointed out in a statement that the Palestinian people's connection with the city of Hebron is based on historical and legal rights affirmed by international and UN decisions and international legal stock, in addition to the authentic presence extending back thousands of years, which goes far beyond the agreements signed, including the Hebron Agreement made in 1997, and that the occupation authorities' retraction of the agreements signed does not create a reality, nor does it establish a right contrary to the rights and sovereignty of the Palestinian people over their land and resources.

And warned that the continuation of the occupation tools in their violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, their land, and their resources, without consequences, will encourage them to persist in their crimes, destabilizing the region and threatening peace and security in the region.
