Khaberni - Engineer Fathi Jaghbeer, president of the Chambers of Industry of Jordan and Oman, confirmed that Iraq is an important economic partner for Jordan, due to the distinguished relationship that unites the leadership of the two brotherly countries and their outstanding historical relationship.
Jaghbeer added during a meeting with an economic delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which included Gilan Haj Saeed, president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the region, held at the Amman Chamber of Industry on Tuesday, attended by board member Dr. Eyad Abu Haltam, General Manager Dr. Nael Al-Hassami, the Kingdom's Consul General in Erbil, Ambassador Ziad Battarseh, and industrialist Hasan Al-Samadi, that Jordan enjoys an attractive investment environment and strategic location that qualifies it to be a regional center for industry, trade, and services, pointing out the importance of enhancing cooperation with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as an important economic partner for the kingdom.
He stressed the industry chambers' keenness to expand areas of cooperation with the private sector in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and to enhance direct communication between businessmen and industrialists, contributing to the establishment of real partnerships that benefit from the capabilities and opportunities available to both sides, and support the growth of trade and investment exchange.
On his part, Gilan Haj Saeed stressed the importance of enhancing economic cooperation with Jordan and benefiting from Jordanian expertise in many sectors, noting that the Kurdistan Region offers promising investment opportunities in various sectors and attaches great importance to developing its economic relations with the kingdom.
Aziz said: "We look forward to enhancing institutional cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry in the Kurdistan Region and their counterparts in Jordan, and activating the exchange of economic delegations, which contributes to introducing the business community to the available investment opportunities and establishing joint projects and partnerships that serve the interests of both sides."
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in a way that serves the interests of the private sector and enhances the volume of trade and joint investments.
Both sides during the meeting confirmed the importance of developing economic relations between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, and intensifying communication between private sector institutions, contributing to investing available opportunities on both sides and opening new avenues for cooperation in various economic sectors.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed on organizing reciprocal visits for businessmen and investors, with the aim of exploring investment opportunities and the competitive advantages that both Jordan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq enjoy, and building sustainable economic partnerships between the companies and institutions on both sides.
The economic delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq included Faisal Muhammad Rasul, Idris Muhammad Aziz, Bashtwan Khalil Omar, Brua Jalal Al-Salehi, and Hemen Ramadan Mustafa.
