Major General Yousef Ahmed AlHunaity Visits Zains Innovation Platform and Zain Regional Data Center

Khaberni - The Chief of the Joint Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaity, visited today, Tuesday, the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) at its headquarters in the King Hussein Business Park, where he was received by Zain Jordan CEO Fahad Al Jasem.

Major General Al-Hunaity, along with a number of general command directors, listened to a detailed explanation presented by the Zain CEO about the goals of the platform and its strategic vision, and the modern technological equipment and facilities that keep pace with global developments, in addition to the platform’s role in enhancing the digital economy and empowering Jordanian developers to innovate solutions that contribute to increasing the kingdom’s competitiveness and consolidating its position as a regional center for technology and innovation.

The Chief of the Joint Staff and the attendees toured the Zain Regional Data and Disaster Recovery Center (THE BUNKER), which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, and provides the latest specialized technological solutions in managing and preserving data and information, alongside services for protecting data and network security from intrusions and cyber attacks for various institutions according to their needs and requirements, ensuring their business continuity even in emergency and natural disaster situations.

The Chief of the Joint Staff also reviewed the latest systems and technologies used in data protection and business continuity, and the advanced capabilities provided by the center in the fields of cybersecurity and disaster recovery, which align with national trends in digital transformation and enhancing technological infrastructure.

Major General Al-Hunaity emphasized the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - The Arab Army’s commitment to supporting the innovation ecosystem and contributing to providing a comprehensive environment that enables local talents to access specialized knowledge, pointing out the importance of keeping pace with global technological developments and continuing to train young people and startups to deal with rapid transformations, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence.

For his part, Zain Jordan CEO Fahad Al Jasem welcomed the visit of the Chief of the Joint Staff, affirming that this visit is a continuation of the ongoing cooperation between Zain Jordan and the armed forces, expressing the company's pride in this constructive cooperation with the military institution which represents a source of pride and honor for all Jordanians.

Al Jasem noted that this cooperation embodies a pioneering model of effective partnership between official, military institutions and the private sector, contributing to the exchange of expertise and employing national capabilities to serve Jordan and Jordanians.

The visit comes in the context of the General Command’s commitment to enhance communication with various state institutions and the private sector, expand cooperation horizons, and keep abreast of the latest smart technologies and systems that support the mission of modernization and development and contribute to achieving national goals in the areas of digital transformation and innovation.

It is worth mentioning that the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) was inaugurated in 2014 under royal sponsorship from His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, with the goal of keeping pace with digital transformation and leveraging technology to enable youth and entrepreneurs, assisting them in building their network of relationships, expanding their horizons, and enhancing their economic development contributions.
