Khaberni - Four Kia models have won awards in the first edition of "Best Adventure Vehicles for 2026" presented by the foundation "U.S. News & World Report" (U.S. News & World Report), reflecting the diversity of its models and its capabilities in off-road trips and outdoor adventures.
The 2026 Kia Carnival was crowned Best Minivan for Camping, while the 2026 Kia K5 received the Best Car for Road Trips award. In the hybrid vehicles category, the 2026 Kia Niro won the Best Small Compact SUV for Road Trips award, and the 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid took home the Best SUV Compact for Road Trips award.
On this occasion, Russell Wager, Vice President of Marketing at Kia America, said: "These awards represent recognition of Kia's commitment to offering vehicles that meet the needs of a wide range of drivers, whether they are planning a short weekend getaway, a long road trip, or everyday family adventures".
He added: "From the spaciousness and versatility of the Kia Carnival, to the sophisticated Kia K5 sedan, and reaching Niro and Sportage Hybrid which combine efficiency and practicality, Kia continues to offer vehicles designed to keep up with today's customer preferred travel styles".
According to the U.S. News foundation, the "Best Adventure Vehicles" awards in their first edition celebrate exceptional vehicles designed for camping, road trips, and exploring off-road trails. Winners were selected based on specific methodologies for each category; to assess performance capabilities, cargo space, passenger comfort, fuel economy, as well as available features tailored for adventure, and the overall quality of the vehicle.
Kia's awarded fleet reflects a collection of strengths suitable for adventures; from the spacious cabin and high flexibility of the "Carnival", to the smooth driving quality and comfort levels in the Kia K5. Both Niro and Sportage were also appreciated for their fuel efficiency, alongside the practicality and versatility valued by road trip enthusiasts.
In this regard, John Vincent, Chief Editor and Vehicle Testing Officer at U.S. News foundation, said: "The concept of an adventure vehicle varies from buyer to buyer, and four models from Kia's extensive lineup fully meet the travel needs of families of different sizes".
Vincent added: "For those taking their first steps and keen on controlling fuel expenses, both Niro and Sportage Hybrid offer the perfect choice. As for larger families, both the Carnival and Kia K5 provide spacious cabins and outstanding stability on the roads".
To determine the winners, the U.S. News foundation evaluated 148 new vehicles across 18 different categories including sedans, SUVs, family vehicles (Minivan), and trucks. The vehicles were subjected to specifically designed evaluation criteria to measure their suitability for off-road driving, road trips, and camping.
