Khaberni - A delegation from the Council of Notables participated in the International Forum for Solidarity with the Workers and People of Palestine and the other occupied Arab territories.
The participation of the delegation, led by the head of the Committee for Labor and Social Development, the Notable Issa Murad, and including members the Notable Sharhabil Madi and the Notable Naseema Al-Fakhri, took place within the framework of their participation in the 114th session of the International Labor Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The delegation of the Council of Notables also participated in the forum alongside the official Jordanian delegation, which included representatives from the three production parties "the government, employers, and workers", in addition to the Jordanian ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Akram Harahsheh, according to a statement from the Council of Notables.
The forum began with the announcement of voting results related to the continuation of Palestine's status as an observer member in the International Labour Organization, despite opposition from some countries.
The voting on the resolution was met with overwhelming majority support from the member states, clearly affirming the international community's support for enhancing Palestine's participation in the organization's activities and consolidating its presence in international forums.
The Jordanian delegation affirmed the Kingdom’s firm and steadfast position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to freedom and to establish their independent state on their national territory, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy. The delegation emphasized the importance of continuing international efforts to protect the rights of Palestinian workers and to enhance their resilience in the face of economic and humanitarian challenges, stressing the need to provide a safe and dignified working environment that ensures social justice and preserves the fundamental rights of workers.
The Jordanian participating delegation renewed its full support for the active participation of the State of Palestine in the International Labour Organization, and for all efforts aimed at achieving justice, peace, and stability in the region, ensuring the rights of peoples and human dignity.
