AlMaraiya Embarrasses Abu AlSaud Regarding Water Pricing Differences in Disi

Khaberni - Representative Mohammed Al-Mara'iya stated that he posed a question to Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Al-Saud regarding the pricing mechanism of well water in the Disi area, particularly concerning the Al-Hussein Agricultural Society and several farms operating in the area.

Al-Mara'iya explained that the pricing of the cubic meter of water in the area has been a topic of discussion for about a year and a half, indicating repeated demands for the reduction of water costs for agricultural purposes.

He pointed out that the agricultural society he referred to is charged about 25 piasters per cubic meter, whereas lower prices of up to 10 piasters are applied to major agricultural companies, according to him.

Al-Mara'iya added that, during his question to the Minister of Water regarding whether there are entities being charged more than 10 piasters, the minister denied it, before the representative – as he claimed – presented information proving that the Al-Hussein Agricultural Society is indeed charged 25 piasters per cubic meter.

Al-Mara'iya mentioned that these pricing disparities call for a comprehensive review of the cost calculation mechanism for well water in the Disi area, ensuring fairness among different agricultural entities.
