Khaberni - A video of an Egyptian buffalo escaping its owner before being slaughtered for Eid al-Adha yesterday sparked widespread interaction on social media platforms, after the "calf" started running inside the villa.
In the video, the "calf" tries to escape from the person holding it, then moves around different areas of the villa and eventually jumps into the swimming pool inside the villa.
Such videos, showing the sacrificial animals escaping from their owners in the streets and causing panic and ridicule, always generate widespread interaction on social media platforms with every Eid al-Adha.
Some Egyptians prefer to slaughter their sacrifices at home or in front of their houses, while the authorities provide free slaughtering services inside government slaughterhouses and encourage people to use them to protect the environment and ensure the health safety of the meat.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced the free slaughtering of 11,719 sacrifices at government slaughterhouses on the second day of Eid al-Adha. The ministry had explained yesterday that the approved government slaughterhouses had received 10,172 sacrifices on the first day of Eid al-Adha, which were slaughtered for the citizens for free.
