Saudi Arabia Announces Successful Hajj This Year and Pilgrims Continue Performing Rituals

Khaberni - Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Mecca Region and Vice President of the Standing Committee for Hajj and Umrah, announced today, Friday, the success of this year's Hajj season, while pilgrims continue performing rituals on the second day of Tashreeq.

The Deputy Emir of the Mecca Region stated that the holy sites were characterized by organization and harmony, and that the pilgrims performed their rituals in an atmosphere of security, tranquility, and care "befitting the honor of the place and the sanctity of the time".

Pilgrims of the Holy House of God continue today, performing the rituals, including those throwing pebbles on the second day of Tashreeq, and others performing the farewell Tawaf for those who hurry, on the eve of the completion of the rituals.

The Saudi Al Ekhbariya channel reported the continued "flow of pilgrim groups to the Jamarat facility amidst high fluidity and precise organization".

It added that "the hurried pilgrims perform the farewell Tawaf with ease and tranquility in an atmosphere filled with faith and serenity".

83,000 Services
Yesterday, Thursday, the Saudi Red Crescent said that its teams had provided ambulance services "to more than 83,000 people from the start of the Hajj season until Thursday".

Saudi authorities have set up health facilities and mobile clinics, while the Ministry of Health announced the deployment of more than 50,000 medical teams, and 3,000 ambulances to provide care to the pilgrims.

On Thursday, the pilgrims of the Holy House of God began the first of the three Tashreeq days, during which they throw pebbles at Mina west of the kingdom, and then conclude their Hajj with the farewell Tawaf.

In Mina, the pilgrims throw the pebbles (21 stones) starting with the smallest, then the middle, and then the big Jamrah, with 7 stones for each, saying "Allahu Akbar" with each one, and making supplications after the smallest and middle ones only, facing the Qibla with raised hands.

Tashreeq days
The days of Tashreeq are the three days that follow the first day of Eid al-Adha, which the pilgrims spend in Mina, and are also known as "the numbered days".

Throwing the pebbles, according to the Hajj rituals, is "a reminder of Satan's enmity, who obstructed Prophet Ibrahim peace be upon him in these places, thereby recognizing his enmity and warning against him".

Hasty pilgrims can shorten the pebble throwing to only two days, then head to Mecca to perform the farewell Tawaf, which is the last ritual of the Hajj that started on Monday and lasts for 6 days and concludes tomorrow, Saturday.

The Saudi General Authority for Statistics announced last Tuesday that the total number of pilgrims for the season of 1447 AH reached 1,707,301 pilgrims, including 1,546,655 pilgrims from outside the country, from 165 nationalities, compared to 160,646 pilgrims from inside.

In the last season, the number of pilgrims reached 1,673,230 from inside and outside, compared to more than 1,833,000 pilgrims in the year 2024.
