Khaberni - Oil prices fell after recording an increase earlier in Thursday's session, following a report by Axios that the United States and Iran had reached an agreement to extend the ceasefire for 60 days and begin negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear program.
Brent crude futures fell 22 cents, or 0.2%, to $94.07 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures settled at $88.68.
Both crudes had risen more than two percent earlier in the session after the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted an American air base in response to an American attack on the coastal city of Bandar Abbas.
Axios reported that U.S. officials and an informed source said that the agreement between the United States and Iran lacks final approval from President Donald Trump, who has told mediators that he wants a few days to make the final decision.
