Jordan celebrates Independence Day in Moscow with wide official and diplomatic attendance

Khaberni - The Jordan Tourism Board, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Moscow and under the patronage of Ambassador Khalid Shawabkeh, organized yesterday a reception commemorating the 80th anniversary of the kingdom's independence.

During the event, the ambassador of the Kingdom to the Russian Federation, Khalid Shawabkeh, delivered a speech reviewing the journey of achievement and modernization that Jordan has witnessed over eight decades of independence, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God protect him.

The ambassador mentioned the kingdom's interest in enhancing relations with Russia and boosting tourist, religious, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

From the Russian side, the event was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Georgi Borisienko and Alexander Alimov, along with a number of Russian officials.

The event was also attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Jordanian diaspora, the business community, and political, cultural, and media figures.

The event included a visual presentation about the most prominent historical and religious tourist sites in Jordan, as well as aspects of modernity and renaissance that the kingdom is experiencing in various sectors, along with a historical participation of the Nashama team in the World Cup.

The event also included a pavilion reflecting the spirit of Jordanian heritage, with the Amman Greater Municipality Folk Arts Troupe presenting performances that embodied aspects of Jordanian heritage and culture.
