Khaberni - Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan was a guest on Amr Adeeb in the program "Al Hekaya", where he revealed for the first time the behind-the-scenes secrets of his artistic career throughout the past decade.
Ramadan discussed the secrets of his historical salary, the reasons for his recent dramatic absence, and details of his movie "Lion".
Ramadan made a surprising announcement for the first time in 10 years about the actual salary he received for the series "The Legend" in 2016, confirming that he was then the undisputed highest-paid in Egypt, with his salary reaching 45 million Egyptian pounds (approximately $845,000), at a time when the ceiling of salaries of major art stars did not exceed 35 million.
The Egyptian artist commented on the ongoing controversy always surrounding artists' salaries, saying that the issue and conflict about his salary always stemmed from his young age compared to the huge amount he received, emphasizing that he never intended to annoy his colleagues in the art scene, and concluded his remarks in this context saying, "Thank God! I have always lived comfortably."
In a related context, Ramadan explained the real reasons behind his absence from the television drama scene since the overwhelming success of his last series "Jaafar El Omda," and spoke about the preparations for his new movie "Lion".
The meeting did not lack recollection of poignant memories, as Ramadan recounted his harsh and bitter beginnings in the art world before achieving overwhelming fame, recalling the first car he owned in his life, which was a used "128".
Ramadan narrated an incident from his struggles when the transmission "gearbox" of his car broke down while he was heading to a filming location in the area of "Abu Rawash" in Giza governorate, forcing him to return home in reverse with the "back of the car" for a very long distance, which caused him severe neck pain that lasted for a full week.
