Khaberni - The Jordan Football Association announced on Saturday evening that the national team player Essam Al-Samiri underwent successful surgery on his Achilles tendon after suffering an injury during individual training sessions with the “Nashama” team.
The association stated on its official page that medical examinations revealed that Al-Samiri suffered a rupture in the Achilles tendon of his left foot during his individual training, wishing him a speedy recovery.
The federation had previously announced the player's injury during the national team's camp.
For his part, Al-Samiri confirmed on his Facebook page the success of the surgical operation, thanking His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein for his support and phone call, as well as the Jordan Football Federation family and both the technical and administrative teams, his fellow players, and the Jordanian fans.
Al-Samiri stated that he will return "stronger" after the period of treatment and rehabilitation, wishing good luck to the national team in its journey in the World Cup.
