Khaberni - Under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and sponsored by Amman Arab University, the university participated in the "First Global Conference on Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence: Knowledge Exchange and Empowerment for the Young Generation and Families", organized by the Global Academy for Digital Health (GA4DH) - United Kingdom, as part of the university’s effort to establish its leading role in the fields of scientific research and innovation, in addition to its ongoing pursuit to keep up with the rapid developments in the health sector and enhance its presence at specialized scientific forums, attended by: Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of Amman Arab University, Professor Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Professor Dr. Ismail Yamin, Assistant President for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Nadia Al-Qudimat, Assistant President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Haweig, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and with the participation of a group of academics, researchers, and experts specialized in health, medical, and technological fields and a number of university and school students, held at the Royal Hotel in Amman.
In this regard, Dr. Al-Widian affirmed that the diamond sponsorship by Amman Arab University for this conference embodies the university's direction towards establishing a culture of innovation and digital transformation, and enhancing its presence in specialized scientific forums, by supporting initiatives that combine scientific research and modern technology, pointing out that artificial intelligence and digital health have become key drivers for the development of health services and the improvement of medical care quality, which requires the preparation of young professionals equipped with digital and knowledge skills that meet future requirements. He also emphasized the importance of role integration between universities, health institutions, and families in building an environment supportive of creativity and innovation, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of leading change and creating sustainable health solutions that serve communities locally and globally.
Dr. Al-Widian also referred during the panel discussion he participated in during the conference that the university continues to develop its educational and research system according to the highest quality standards, by updating the curricula, enhancing digital skills, and supporting applied scientific research, to ensure the preparation of qualified cadres capable of efficiently and responsibly employing artificial intelligence and digital transformation technologies, in line with local and global labor market requirements.
In turn, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ouda from Bristol University / UK and the Executive Director of the Global Academy for Digital Health, stated that the conference formed a global platform that brought together a group of scientists, researchers, and industry leaders with the young generation and families, aiming to exchange knowledge and empower the community with digital tools for future healthcare, highlighting that the conference focused on (16) scientific and knowledge tracks that dealt with reimagining higher education and the evolution of medical professions in the age of artificial intelligence, along with discussions in the fields of robotic surgery, bioinformatics, digital mental health, and the role of smart technologies in pharmacy, nursing, and dentistry. He added that the conference provided a unique platform through the "Family Forum" which contributed to connecting youth and their families with knowledge sources and guiding them towards emerging university specializations, highlighting the role of digital solutions in improving life quality and supporting disabled individuals, pointing out that the conference also featured innovative research projects presented by young researchers, and concluded with an award ceremony for pioneering talents who presented promising solutions in the field of digital health transformation, emphasizing the importance of building sustainable communication networks between innovators and the new generation to enhance the development of the global healthcare system based on youth and academic initiatives.
Dr. Abu Haweig, who managed the student forum session for the Pharmacy track in the context of digital development and transformation, confirmed that the university students' research participation in the conference reflects the College of Pharmacy's commitment to enhancing student involvement in specialized scientific events, and enabling them to interact with the latest trends in the fields of digital health and artificial intelligence, which contributes to preparing cadres capable of employing modern technology to serve the community and meet labor market requirements.
Dr. Lubna Al-Gharaibeh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, also participated in managing the first panel discussion titled "Exploring Digital Pharmacy and Drug Manufacturing in Collaboration Between Academic Leaders and Industry", and Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, whose students notably excelled in presenting their research, clearly affirming the college administration’s support for its members’ participation and its eagerness for direct interaction with specialized scientific events.
The conference witnessed significant participation from university students, where 47 students from the College of Pharmacy, the College of Information Technology, and the College of Applied Medical Sciences participated, reflecting the university's commitment to involving its students in quality scientific events that enhance their academic and research experience. The participation was distinguished by notable research presence, with 15 students presenting projects and research papers during the conference sessions, covering various topics in digital health and the applications of artificial intelligence in the pharmaceutical field, reflecting the level of scientific qualification enjoyed by the college’s students.
Hamza Al-Hamwi, a master's student in the Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs program, achieved a remarkable accomplishment by obtaining the third place for his research project, while student Hidaya Yassin from the College of Information Technology also secured the third place tie within the same competition, reflecting the spirit of integration between the university's various colleges in the fields of digital health and artificial intelligence. The Marketing Department at Amman Arab University also participated through showcasing the university's specializations and academic programs and conducting several distinctive interactive activities aimed at attracting students and enhancing their awareness of modern specializations, in addition to introducing the university's educational environment supportive of creativity and excellence. The Media and Public Relations Department at the university fully covered the event professionally, documenting the activities, meetings, and accompanying activities of the conference, and publishing the most prominent outcomes of the participation through the university's official media platforms, reflecting the university's bright image and effective presence in specialized scientific forums.
The participating students expressed their pride and appreciation for this participation, confirming that it provided an important opportunity to refine their personalities and enhance their readiness to enter the labor market, allowing them to interact with experts and specialists and present their ideas and research projects in an advanced scientific environment. They extended their gratitude and appreciation to the university and college administration for their continuous support and their commitment to providing such quality opportunities that contribute to developing their academic and professional skills.
