Khaberni - The Performance Index Center / Efficiency called on the Jordanian government and the oil derivatives pricing committee to adopt a more open and transparent approach regarding fuel prices in Jordan.
The center called for adopting a more open and transparent approach, through simple and periodic disclosure, based on clearly publishing details of the pricing equation for fuels, including import costs, fixed taxes, transportation and storage fees, and how global price decreases or increases reflect on the final price.
Here is the center’s publication:
This historical analysis (** a picture of the analysis below) shows the relationship and tracks the path between the average price of a Brent crude barrel globally and gasoline prices locally (Octane 90 and 95) in Jordan until May 2026. In light of the ongoing fluctuations in global markets, there is a pressing need to bolster citizen confidence in economic policies and local pricing decisions.
Starting from our absolute belief at the Performance Index Center | Efficiency, that governance based on transparency is a pillar of sound governance, we call on the government and the oil derivatives pricing committee to adopt a more open and transparent approach, through simple and periodic disclosure, based on clearly publishing details of the pricing equation for fuels, including import costs, fixed taxes, transportation and storage fees, and how global price decreases or increases reflect on the final price.
