Khaberni - In the context of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing a culture of scientific research and encouraging its students to actively participate in international scientific conferences and forums, which contributes to the development of their research and academic skills, and enhances their scientific presence at both regional and international levels, master's student Ghada Al-Huwail participated in the first Society of Pharmacovigilance Conference, which was held in Saudi Arabia/Riyadh, with the participation of a group of experts, specialists, and representatives from prestigious health and regulatory authorities, including the General Authority for Food and Drug, the European Medicines Agency, the United States Pharmacopeia, and the Saudi Center for Patient Safety, in addition to a number of healthcare institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
During the conference, student Al-Huwail presented a research paper titled: “Arrhythmia Associated with Antiepileptic Drugs: Review FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) Database”, which discussed the study and analysis of arrhythmias associated with the use of anti-epileptic drugs, based on data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FDA), where the research achieved remarkable excellence by obtaining the third position among the best poster presentations, reflecting the quality of the scientific research and the excellence of its academic outputs, and confirming the ability of students of Amman Arab University to compete and excel in specialized scientific forums.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Haweij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, stated that this achievement reflects the outstanding academic and research level of the students of the college, embodies the commitment of the college to support applied scientific research and encourage students to participate in international scientific conferences and forums, contributing to honing their research skills and enhancing their scientific presence, indicating the continuous commitment of Amman Arab University to support its students and enable them to engage in specialized research and scientific activities, providing an academic environment conducive to creativity and innovation, contributing to the preparation of qualified cadres capable of competing and excelling locally and internationally, and reflecting the advanced scientific standing enjoyed by the university and its various academic programs.
