Zakat Fund Approves Eid Gifts for Deserving Families

Khaberni - The board of directors of the Zakat Fund decided in its meeting on Wednesday, chaired by the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites Mohammad Khalaileh, to disburse Eid gifts worth 50 dinars for each poor family and orphan families benefiting from the fund, to be deposited in the beneficiaries' bank accounts along with their monthly cash assistance.

The council agreed to renovate 11 houses in various parts of the kingdom, following the completion of the necessary technical studies.

It also approved the payment of financial dues for 116 debtors who met the approved conditions and standards at the fund, with a total amount paid of 80,500 dinars.

The board presented the financial status of the fund for the first quarter of the current year during the meeting, and the members were briefed on the revenue, expenditure, and the amount of donations received, ensuring the continuity of charitable programs and delivering them to their beneficiaries with the highest levels of efficiency and transparency.

In support of education, the council approved the launch of the School Bag Project for the academic year 2026/2027, which involves purchasing 20,000 school bags equipped with all necessary stationery at an estimated cost of no more than 250,000 dinars, in preparation for distribution to students from deserving families.

Minister Khalaileh praised the pivotal role played by the Zakat Fund, appreciating the trust of those who pay zakat, donors, and contributors of charitable initiatives, and their generous financial support which contributes to reinforcing the values of social solidarity among the nation's people.
