The commander of the forces in the MONUSCO mission visits the Jordanian operations camp and follows a joint exercise

Khaberni - The commander of the United Nations forces for achieving stabilization in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), General Ulises de Mesquita Gomez, visited on Tuesday the Jordanian operations camp at Mavivi Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and was welcomed by the force commander.

General Gomez, in the presence of the commander of the Brazilian Amazon military region, General Luiz Gonzaga, was briefed on the nature of the operational tasks and duties carried out by the force, as well as their level of readiness and preparedness to perform various tasks within their area of responsibility.

The commander of the United Nations forces also observed a joint operational exercise, involving the Jordanian-Congolese Vertical Aircraft Unit/2, the Brazilian special forces, the Guatemalan special forces, and the Kenyan special forces, which demonstrated a high level of professionalism and combat efficiency along with field coordination between the participating forces, as well as quick response and precision in fulfilling duties in an environment that simulates potential threats in the area of responsibility.

At the end of the visit, General Gomez praised the distinguished level, high discipline, and operational readiness displayed by the Jordanian force and the participating UN forces, appreciating the efforts made and the high field capacities and professionalism in executing joint tasks within international peacekeeping operations.
