Trumps golden phone raises questions one year after promises and delays

Khaberni -  The golden smartphone bearing the name of US President Donald Trump continues to be shrouded in mystery and ongoing delay, despite being revealed about a year ago for the first time as part of the "Trump Mobile" project.

The president's sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, announced in June 2025 the "T1 Phone" as the flagship product of the new Trump family wireless service, with booking requests starting at an initial payment of 100 dollars, while the promotional price of the phone was set at 499 dollars.
Repeated delays with no final date

Although the phone was supposed to be launched in the market in August 2025, the launch date has been postponed several times since then, without specifying a new official date until May 202, as mentioned by the American newspaper "The Hill".

The "Trump Mobile" website still directs customers to a waiting list to obtain the phone, with an updated design that slightly differs from the version presented at the first announcement of the project.

Specifications of the golden phone

When it was revealed, the phone was promoted as a device colored gold "designed and manufactured in the United States", though direct references to its manufacturing inside America later disappeared from the official website.

The website currently describes the phone as "designed according to American values" and "inspired by American innovation".

According to the announced specifications, the phone will feature a 6.78-inch screen, a main camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, and a battery that supports fast charging, in addition to a fingerprint sensor, and will operate on the "Android" operating system.

The current promotional images of the phone show a golden design bearing the American flag on the back above the phrase "Trump Mobile".

The company does not guarantee the launch of the phone

Despite continuing to receive bookings, the terms and conditions published on the website clearly indicate that there is no guarantee for the phone's launch or definite delivery date.

It is stated on the website that "shipping dates, timelines, and production plans are non-binding estimates", under a heading bearing the phrase "no guarantee for launch, delivery, or timing".

The company also clarified that it does not guarantee the phone will receive regulatory approvals, begin production, or even be commercially released. Customers who have paid the reservation deposit can get a full refund if they do not want to wait, by contacting "Trump Mobile" customer service.

The company also confirmed that paying the deposit does not guarantee securing the current promotional price, clarifying that final prices will be determined at the actual purchase date.

Indications of the project's continuation

Despite the mystery surrounding the project, American reports indicated that the phone might still actually be in development, after the "T1 Phone" received the "PTCRB" certification in March, which relates to compatibility standards with telecommunications networks in North America.

At the same time, "Trump Mobile" service continues to accept subscribers using other phones, including refurbished devices from "Apple" and "Samsung" offered through the service website.
