Khaberni - This year, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of its establishment, recalling a national developmental journey that started with a lofty royal vision, which believed in the Jordanian individual and his ability to make the future, and carried a sustainable developmental message throughout the regions of the Kingdom over the years.
On this occasion, the Fund launched the Silver Jubilee slogan: "A Renewed Vision... A Future being Made", to reflect the continuing approach of development and modernization adopted by the Fund, and building on the accumulated national achievements, in line with the visions of economic, administrative, and political modernization, and enhancing its readiness for the coming stage.
The slogan embodies the Fund's ability and flexibility to keep up with transformations and changes, and to work on making a more sustainable future through investing in people, empowering youth, and enhancing innovation in line with labor market requirements and contributing to sustainable development.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, His Excellency Engineer Hadeetha Al-Kharisha, stated that the Fund has formed, over twenty-five years, a national model in developmental work based on partnership, sustainability, and investment in people, emphasizing that the achievements reflect the insightful royal vision in empowering local communities and transforming challenges into real developmental opportunities. He added that the next stage requires continuous development of programs and quality initiatives that align with state priorities and modernization directions and enhance the role of youth in the building and development process.
On his part, the General Manager of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, Dr. Samer Al-Maflah, mentioned that the celebration of the Silver Jubilee marks an important national milestone to recall a journey full of developmental achievements achieved through a lofty royal vision. He confirmed that the Fund continues today its journey with a renewed vision through working on preparing a strategy for the coming three years, framing its efforts through quality projects and programs, and employing future technology and artificial intelligence to build the capabilities of citizens, in line with labor market requirements and contributing to sustainable development.
The King Abdullah II Fund for Development was established in 2001 by a lofty royal initiative to serve as a national umbrella concerned with empowering citizens, and supporting development and production in various regions of the Kingdom, through executing quality projects and programs that contribute to improving the economic and social realities of local communities.
The Fund operates through two main branches represented in developmental projects and programs and initiatives; where it implements through its developmental arm a number of projects that have formed national success stories, including the Royal Academy for Culinary Arts established to support vocational education and hospitality, the Oasis500 company to enhance Jordan's position as a regional hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, Maan Development Company to provide infrastructure to attract investments in the governorate to be the main developer of the Maan Development Area, the Jordanian Company for Reviving Heritage that presents a unique tourist model through live historical performances and trips of the Great Arab Revolt Train, the Dead Sea Company for Tourism and Real Estate Investments to boost conference and exhibition tourism, the Jordanian Company for Promoting Heritage Products to support traditional craft and food industries, and Al-Sanabel for Artistic Production established to produce content documenting important national and historical milestones using the latest art production technologies, and the National Small Projects Financing Company to provide support for owners of small and income-generating projects, among other developmental projects.
On the level of programs and initiatives, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development aimed to activate the role of youth and enable them to contribute to the nation-building and development process in the Kingdom through a package of various programs and initiatives aimed at developing leadership and professional skills such as the Civil Service Development Project, enhancing youth readiness for the labor market through the My Path Project, promoting active citizenship values and political empowerment through the Parliamentary Fellowship Project, supporting creativity and innovation among youth through the University Students Research and Creativity Support Project, as well as contributing to sustainable development in provinces through supporting small youth projects that enhance self-employment within various sectors through the Leadership Program, and other programs concerned with economically and politically empowering the youth.
In the field of initiatives, the Fund implements the Jordan Gaming Lab initiative that was initiated by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, specifically designed to meet the needs of developers and companies in designing and programming electronic games, to serve as an incubator for their projects.
Among the initiatives that support youth is the All Jordan Youth Commission, established by an initiative from His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, executed by the Fund to create a youth institutional platform through which the nation's youth in all governorates interact in the fields of economic, social, political, and cultural development.
Over twenty-five years, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development has established itself as a national model in sustainable developmental work, based on a royal vision that believes in that the real investment starts with people. As a new phase begins under the slogan "A Renewed Vision... A Future being Made", the Fund continues its work with a future-oriented vision based on innovation, youth empowerment, enhancing partnerships, and investing in people as the real wealth of the nation, in line with His Majesty's aspirations towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.
