Khaberni - The Turkish actress Cemre Baysal stirred wide controversy across social media after facing harsh criticisms for her performance in a scene from the series “Roses and Sins,” in which she stars alongside the Turkish star Murad Yildirim.
A clip from episode 28 of the series widely spread, documenting the moment the character “Serhat,” played by Murad Yildirim, being taken to the operating room after a gunshot wound, while “Zeynep,” played by Cemre Baysal, breaks down in tears.
The scene caused division among audiences, as some felt that Cemre Baysal’s performance was emotional and impactful, while others found her performance unconvincing and laughable.
Many comments surfaced across the platforms, including: “Was she crying or laughing?”; another wrote: “If I had watched the scene without sound, I would have thought she was actually laughing,” while others affirmed that the scene successfully conveyed the necessary tension and sadness.
As the scene dominated social media discussions, the public revisited prior statements by Turkish actress Gülşah Fosalı, who had criticized the performance of an unnamed actress following the airing of the series “Leyla” last season.
Many followers linked those statements to Cemre Baysal, especially after reports of past rivalries between the two actresses during their collaboration in the series “Leyla,” due to competition for the leading role.
