Khaberni - As part of Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan’s efforts to consolidate the integration between academic knowledge and practical application, the Faculty of Law, in cooperation with the Graduate Studies Faculty, organized a field scientific visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens, supervised by Dr. Layla Barqawi, within the framework of the course “Intellectual Property / Advanced Studies” for master’s program students, with the goal of enriching their scientific experiences and connecting legal aspects with modern environmental and research applications.
The visit aimed to acquaint the students with practical applications related to the protection of plant resources and biodiversity, and to highlight the role of intellectual property in protecting plant varieties, supporting innovation and scientific research in the agricultural field, in line with concepts of sustainability and preservation of plant genetic resources.
During the visit, the students observed the seed bank and herbarium, and were introduced to the vital role these facilities play in documenting plants and preserving biodiversity, which contributed to enhancing their understanding of the intertwined relationship between law, environment, and innovation, and linking academic concepts with practical applications on the ground.
At the end of the visit, thanks and appreciation were expressed to the management of the Royal Botanic Garden, represented by Engineer Mohammad Shahbaz, the General Manager, Dr. Hatem Tayfour, the Assistant General Manager, and Mr. Ahmad Al-Rawajfeh, the Administrative Manager, and all the staff of the garden, in appreciation of their warm reception, hospitality, distinguished organization, and the valuable information they provided, which enriched the students’ scientific and knowledge experience.
