Khaberni - Police in Brazil arrested a woman after she was accused of stabbing a hairdresser inside a beauty salon in Sao Paulo, due to her anger over the result she received after coloring and treating her hair.
Surveillance cameras showed Lais Gabriela Barbosa da Cunha (27 years old) approaching the hairdresser "Eduardo Ferrari" while he was working with another client, before pulling a knife from her bag and stabbing him between the shoulders from behind.
A number of people present in the salon quickly subdued her, while "Ferrari" fled towards the exit in a state of panic after realizing what had happened. Other footage showed security men restraining the woman, while some salon workers approached her and assaulted her.
According to workers, the conflict began with the woman’s visit to the salon on April 7, where she seemed satisfied with the result when she left, and even posted positive comments on social media.
But she returned days later to file complaints and demand a refund, claiming that the haircut made her look like a cartoon character known in Brazil as "Cebolinha". She said in a video that the hairdresser "cut her hair randomly using thinning scissors".
Reports mentioned that the woman had previously threatened to burn the hairdresser if she did not get her money, and it was said that she threatened to hire someone to kill him.
On the day of the incident, she came to the salon without an appointment and demanded an immediate resolution, which led the workers to call the building's guard to expel her due to her causing chaos, moments before she carried out the stabbing. One of the employees later managed to snatch the knife from her, while medical examination showed that Ferrari's injury was superficial.
The police reported that the woman confessed to the attack, and admitted to directing anti-gay insults at the hairdresser before the incident.
Ferrari said in a statement that his legal team is closely following the case, emphasizing that "attempted murder is a very serious crime and cannot be treated as a mere accident", adding that the salon will review its security procedures to ensure the safety of its workers.
