Khaberni - Jordan Customs announced the Cabinet's approval to extend the application of the decision to reduce customs fines and the tax due on taxpayers in customs cases identified before 1/1/2025, according to the current reduction rates of the second phase (40% and 75%), until the date of 30/9/2026 in order to enable taxpayers to pay their financial obligations before starting legal proceedings.
The decision comes within the framework of facilitating for citizens and taxpayers and providing them the opportunity to address their financial situations and settle their outstanding balances according to the legal frameworks in place before the department starts implementing the procedures for auctioning seized properties in public auctions, in line with the government's approach to enhance flexibility and reduce financial burdens.
Jordan Customs confirmed its continued provision of necessary facilities for reviewers and taxpayers, urging the relevant parties to take advantage of the extension period to settle their financial status and avoid subsequent legal procedures.
