Khaberni - Despite his successful career filled with accomplishments and awards, Egyptian artist Hany Shaker passed away leaving behind an “incomplete” dream and an artistic wish he often spoke about in his last interviews, which was to return to the acting world through television drama reviving the era of beautiful romance.
The wish that fate did not give him time to fulfill was a massive drama project he had begun planning with writer Ayman Salama. During his attendance at the Cairo Film Festival (44th edition), the late artist stated that he refused to return to cinema in its current state, preferring "the small screen" with the condition of having a solid script and a strong story that would reintroduce the romantic musical genre he was famous for, away from the noise of modern cinema.
The Paris Journey and the Last Moments
The death of the “Prince of Arabic Song” occurred at the age of 73, after a fight with a health crisis that required him to travel to Paris for treatment, followed by the announcement of his departure which caused a major shock to the entertainment industry and fans across the Arab world.
Yesterday (Wednesday), the city of Sheikh Zayed saw a moving farewell to the late artist, where his body was escorted from the Abu Shokka Mosque amid significant attendance by stars from the art and media world who were keen to offer condolences and comfort his family, in a scene dominated by profound sadness for a unique artistic stature that will not be repeated.
With the passing of Hany Shaker, a long chapter of creativity is folded, and his dream of "the last dramatic work" remains an incomplete story, but it continues to live in the hearts of his fans as evidence of his undimmed ambition until the final moment.
