Petra University President honors the Taekwondo team for winning first place in the national championship

Khaberni - Petra University’s President, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, honored the Taekwondo team for winning first place in the female students’ category at the Jordanian Universities Championship, which was organized by the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities with participation from twenty-four public and private universities. The ceremony took place during an event organized by the Dean of Student Affairs, with the presence of the dean, Professor Dr. Iyad Al Malah, celebrating the team’s achievements and their dominance in the competitions.
Players Yara Yasin and Nour Aldardouk won two gold medals, while Ruha Al-Adwan secured the bronze medal in the women’s competitions. Additionally, the male team members Fahd Fathi and Send Abdullah won two silver medals, along with a bronze medal for player Ramez Abdel Aal, bringing the university’s overall medal tally to six colored medals.
Abdel Rahim confirmed the university’s continued support for extracurricular activities and the nurturing of sports talents, expressing pride in the students' excellence at national forums. This approach aims to develop students' personalities and provide an environment conducive to achievement, thereby enhancing Petra University's presence in sports competitions, and supporting its teams' ability to excel under the supervision of the national team coach, Captain Ayman Hassami.
These results reflect institutional efforts in attracting talented athletes and developing their skills. Furthermore, the Dean of Student Affairs, by honoring the winning teams, seeks to encourage students to actively participate in activities that combine academic attainment and physical excellence, aligning with the university's vision of preparing a generation capable of representing Jordan in major sports forums.
